~Today is Monday, September 22, 2025, Day 6

~Block rotation: C, A, B, Advisory, D, G, E, F

~Lunch: 6, 7, 8

Science Olympiad will be holding a meeting for returning members only today after school in Ms. Longley-Cook’s room, Room 252.  We hope to see you there!  Want to join the club?  New members will begin in October.  Science rules!

Back to School Night is happening on Thursday, September 25th and we are looking for 8th grade students to stand out in the hallways and direct the caregivers to their students’ classrooms. If you are free on Thursday September 25th from 6:15 PM until 8:45 PM, come to the main office at any point today and put your name in for consideration.

Think you know it all? Answer the Library Question of the Week for a chance to win a prize! This week’s question: “What is the longest river in the world?” Scan the barcode outside the library bulletin board to enter. The winner will be announced on Friday!

Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating this week?  Tonight begins the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. It is celebrated for either 1 or 2 days, beginning at sundown the night before. Apples and honey are shared symbolizing hopes for a sweet new year. Rosh Hashanah also begins the 10 most holy days in the Jewish year.  You can wish someone a “sweet new year” or a “good new year.” We wish all people at WMS observing this holiday, a “sweet new year” or a “good new year,” or in Hebrew, “L’Shana Tovah.”

To all students:  Today after school there will be teachers outside with magnets to unlock your Yondr pouches in the front courtyard near the flagpole. Students near the courtyard doors at the end of the day can exit through those doors and unlock your pouches in the courtyard

There will be no 3:30 pm bus to Boston today. All students riding to Boston will be taking the 2:30 pm bus. The late bus in Wellesley will leave at 3:30 pm.

Have a good day everyone!

Please note that the daily announcements are sometimes subject to change during the school day. When this happens the announcements will be updated on the website and on the video screen in the WMS lobby, but a new email will not be sent.
