It’s time to test your sports knowledge for this week’s Library Question of the Week! The question: “Who is the only professional athlete to have played in both a Super Bowl and a World Series?” Tip: you can find your answer inside a book on one of the library book displays! Make sure to submit your answer by scanning the barcode on the bulletin board directly outside the door to the library. A winner will be announced on Friday. Good luck!

Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating today? Today is the Hindu festival of Diwali. Diwali is the 4 or 5-day festival of lights, and it is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and some Buddhists and Muslims as well. The festival signifies the victory of light over darkness or good over evil. The celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed. The festival typically extends over a five-day period, but the main festival night of Diwali coincides with the darkest, new moon night of the Hindu lunar month. We wish all people at WMS observing this holiday, “Happy Diwali.”

The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today.  The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcements for their departure from WMS.

Have a good day everyone!

Please note that the daily announcements are sometimes subject to change during the school day. When this happens the announcements will be updated on the website and on the video screen in the WMS lobby, but a new email will not be sent.
