Congratulations to Ariana Siracuse for knowing that Clara Barton was the nurse who became known as the “angel of the battlefield” during the Civil War. This week’s Library Question: “What is the name for the earthy, fresh, damp smell that happens when it rains?” Submit your answer by scanning the QR code outside the library. A winner will be announced on Friday. Good luck!
Anyone signed up to participate in the spring play should attend rehearsal in the Auditorium today immediately after school.
For 6th, 7th, and 8th graders interested in running on the WMS Track Team this spring, there will be a short informational meeting today at 2:45 pm in the Cafeteria. Practice starts tomorrow at 3:00 pm on the Hunnewell Soccer Fields.
For all 8th Grade boys interested in joining the High School volleyball team this spring, there will be an informational meeting tomorrow, Tuesday at 2:50 pm in the WMS cafeteria. There will also be an informational meeting for 8th grade parents tonight at 6:00 pm in the Wellesley High School cafeteria.
For all 8th graders, if your civics projects include hanging posters in the school, please make an appointment with Dr. Ito by scheduling with Ms. Chong in the main office.
It’s almost time for our annual grade 5 visits to WMS and we need 8th grade tour guides! If you are an 8th grader and would like to be a guide, please come down to the main office by Friday, April 10th and let us know you are interested. We will do a lottery to select the guides.
Lost and found is piling up again. Please check the table outside the main office for any items you may have lost. Older items may be donated over the April break.
Ms. Moore’s 6th grade tutoring program is canceled today after school due to MCAS testing this week.
The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today. The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcements for their departure from WMS.
Have a good day everyone!
Please note that the daily announcements are sometimes subject to change during the school day. When this happens the announcements will be updated on the website and on the video screen in the WMS lobby, but a new email will not be sent.
