Congratulations to Nathan Carter for knowing that the fastest-growing plant on Earth is bamboo! Nathan, you can claim your prize in the library. Stay tuned for a new question of the week on Monday.
Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community are celebrating today? Today is Visakha Puja day which is a holiday celebrated by Buddhists and some Hindus around the world. Visakha Puja day, also known as Buddha day or Vesak, is the holiest day for Buddhists and is celebrated by Buddhist communities all over the world. It marks the three important incidents in the life of Buddha: Buddha’s birthday, the enlightenment of the Buddha, and the death of the Buddha. Some Buddhists also listen to Dhamma preaching and go to temples for special observations. It is also a time to reflect on the teachings of Buddha and what it means to be Buddhist. To all students and families at WMS who celebrate Visakha Puja, we wish you peace.
There will be no 3:30 pm bus to Boston today. All students riding to Boston will be taking the 2:30 pm bus. The late bus in Wellesley will leave at 3:30 pm.
Have a good day everyone!
Please note that the daily announcements are sometimes subject to change during the school day. When this happens the announcements will be updated on the website and on the video screen in the WMS lobby, but a new email will not be sent.
