This past weekend, the National Mathcounts competition took place in Orlando, Florida. One of our 7th graders, Max Wang, was part of the Massachusetts team that won first place in the country! Max himself earned the #11 spot nationally, and will have a chance to compete again next year. We want to congratulate Max and the Massachusetts team for their tremendous achievement.
The spring play What You See and What You Don’t opens tomorrow night! A cast of about 40 students has been working hard to create and rehearse this play about the silent struggles of melodramatic middle schoolers. Performances are Thursday and Friday, both at 7:00 pm, and admission is free. There’s only one cast, so come either night to see the same awesome kids. Hope to see you there!
Have you ever noticed the banners that are hanging in the auditorium around the stage? Each represents an 8th-grade class and is designed by a 8th current 8th grade student. The design also becomes the cover of the 8th-grade Completion assembly program. If you are interested in submitting a drawing to be considered, you will need to:
-
Make an original, full-color drawing by hand or digitally on an 8 1/2×11 sheet of paper.
-
Submit your drawing to the Main Office by Wednesday, May 27th.
Intramural indoor soccer will be in Gym B today after school.
The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today. The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcements for their departure from WMS.
Have a good day everyone!
Please note that the daily announcements are sometimes subject to change during the school day. When this happens the announcements will be updated on the website and on the video screen in the WMS lobby, but a new email will not be sent.
