Go Hawks

Dear Schofield Families,

Field Day was a blast today!  We kicked off the day with the singing of our National Anthem by four fifth graders over the louds speaker (pic below) and then classes rotated through a variety of stations outside.  After lunch, students had races, danced and enjoyed popsicles.  Thank you to our planning team made up of Ms. Hale, Ms. El-Lakkis, Ms. Zimmer, Senora Ortiz and of course, Ms. Perry.  Together, they thoughtfully planned an inclusive, well-organized day that students will likely remember for a long time. Thank you also to all of our amazing teachers and parent volunteers – we couldn’t have done it without you all!  It was awesome to see so many smiles, high fives and laughs.  At dismissal, I asked a first grader what his favorite part of Field Day was and he enthusiastically said, “The entire day!”

Regions Fair – Grade 4
Our fourth graders did an amazing job this week with their Regions Fair projects.  Students have engaged in this interdisciplinary project at Schofield for 29 years!  Thank you to all of the families who joined us to celebrate their hard work.  We are so proud of our fourth graders!

Finally, congratulations to Kevin from 5D for winning the Massachusetts K-5 State Chess Championship last weekend!  We are impressed by this incredible achievement.

This weekend is a time to honor and remember the brave individuals who have served our country. It also gives us an opportunity to reflect and spend quality time with our loved ones.  I am off to the Cape for the weekend to welcome back my parents who have been in Florida most of the year.  My kids can’t wait to see Nana and Papa.

I hope you enjoy the long weekend.  We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday.

Best,
Jordan
