Dear Sprague Community,
It’s time for the annual Food Drive to benefit the Wellesley Food Pantry. Next week, our 5th graders will be collecting food items and keeping track of them for us. Look for 5th grade helpers in carline at drop off time. Children can also bring items into school and put them in the collection box in the lobby. Each year, the Food Pantry lets us know of items that are in short supply at the Pantry and we try to collect what they need. 5th grade parent Laura Brown MacKinnon is the liaison and tells us they need the following items:
Kindergarten: Canned Fruit or Vegetables
1st Grade: Mac & Cheese
2nd Grade: Peanut Butter/ Jelly
3rd Grade: Pasta & White Rice
4th Grade: Pasta Sauce (not in a jar!)
5th Grade: Canned Meats (Tuna, chicken, ham, salmon, spam…)
Thank you in advance for your support.
I’d like to echo the thanks that our PTO president Elaine Marten sent out to all the families who presented and/or attended our first Multicultural Night. It was an evening of sharing, pride, warmth, and celebration of cultures. I always love seeing children and parents enjoying time together at school events!
Bring re-fillable water bottles
We now have a “bubbler” and a refill station for water bottles right at Sprague. It is located by the recess door near the elevator. It will be useful as the weather gets warmer and students bring water each day. We hope to have another one installed upstairs later in the spring.
Late spring reminders:
If your family has moved or is planning to move, be sure to let our school office know of your new address. If your child will not attend Sprague next year, we also need to know that so we can plan for next year.
Please be sure to park in lined spaces in our parking lot any time you leave your car. Parking on the ends of traffic islands is not allowed as it blocks the flow of traffic.
