Dear Sprague Community,
It’s Teacher Appreciation Week! Our teachers work so hard each and every day of the school year. They have built wonderful relationships with our students and plan meaningful lessons to support and enhance learning. Please consider taking a few moments to write a ‘thank you’ to your child’s teacher or teachers to let them know the difference they make in the lives of your children. Better yet, have your child write to them. It only takes a few minutes and will mean the world to your child’s teacher!
PAWS preschool has asked us to share the flyer about enrollment. If you have a preschooler or know a friend or neighbor who may be interested, please share it.

Food Drive Reminder:
We will continue to collect food this week and into next week. Please consider sending the following items:
Kindergarten: Canned Fruit or Vegetables
1st Grade: Mac & Cheese
2nd Grade: Peanut Butter/ Jelly
3rd Grade: Pasta & White Rice
4th Grade: Pasta Sauce (not in a jar!)
5th Grade: Canned Meats (Tuna, chicken, ham, salmon, spam…)
We had a great school gathering on Friday in which 5EB announced the Food Drive. We also had a gymnastics demonstration from the girls in 5MH and a beautiful performance of the song “For Good,” from the musical “Wicked,” by our own Ms. Kelley (TA) and Mr. Cheng (substitute teacher in music.) Thanks to all!
Mr. Hagar-McKee is still out sick. He is OK, but dealing with a persistent medical condition. We are not sure when he will return. Mr. Cheng is doing a great job in the music room. Mr. Cheng is a licensed music educator who is very knowledgeable and talented. We feel fortunate to have him filling in at Sprague.
