Dear Upham Parents,

As we approach the end of the school year, we want to keep you informed about the various activities and supports available to our students during this time of transition. The closing of Upham School and the accompanying changes have undoubtedly stirred many emotions among our students and staff. To help them navigate these feelings, Dr. Hoitash, our School Psychologist, and Samantha Tremlett, our School Social Worker, will be meeting with students to discuss their thoughts and emotions related to the changes in the school environment, such as the furniture in the hallways and the imminent closing of the school.

We have several events planned to celebrate our time at Upham and to provide opportunities for students, families, and staff to come together. We hope you will join us for these special occasions:

Spring Concert: Monday, June 3, at 8:45 AM in the Gym. Enjoy performances by our talented students as we celebrate the joy of music.

METCO STAY DAY: Wednesday, June 5, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity for our METCO students to stay and participate in various activities.

All School Assembly: Thursday, June 6, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This will be our final assembly to celebrate Upham and its legacy. All are welcome to attend. Following the assembly, the wonderful Upham PTO will offer entertainment and refreshments on the Upper Field from 3:05 PM to 5:00 PM.

Field Day: Friday, June 7. Join us for a day of fun in the sun, filled with various activities and games for our students.

We are thrilled to invite everyone to the 5th Grade MOVING ON Ceremony on Tuesday, June 11, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in the gym. Please join us in celebrating the achievements of our 5th graders as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their academic journey.

On Wednesday, June 12, which is a Full Day of school, Upham will host a “Lights Out” visit with self-guided tours for “One Last Walk” through Upham from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

Thursday, June 13, marks the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL AND UPHAM! The day will be filled with special events, starting with a “sing-a-long” in the gym at 11:40 AM, followed by our 5th Grade and School CLAP OUT at 11:55 AM, and concluding with dismissal at 12:00 PM. Join us in saying “Goodbye Upham!” as we close this extraordinary chapter in our school’s history.

We understand that this period may be challenging for some, and we are committed to providing the necessary support to our students. If you have any concerns or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in making Upham a special place for learning and growth.

Dare to Dream,

Mr. Dees
