WHS Principal’s Newsletter

October 31, 2025
Dear Families,
Happy Halloween and welcome to November!
There’s so much happening at the High School right now it is hard to keep up. Today is a huge day for many of our seniors as it marks the Early Decision or Early Action deadline for many colleges and universities. I hope they are able to “press send” and exhale for a moment at least.
This coming Wednesday we will be holding our annual Safety training in partnership with the Wellesley Police Department. It will take place during our advisory time. We hope that using this time will help ensure a supportive environment for this challenging topic. The training includes watching a training video as well as practicing lockdown and evacuation. Students do have the ability to opt out of the lockdown and evacuation portion of the training by meeting one of our counselors in the main lobby and going for a group walk outside during that time. We appreciate this can be a difficult experience for some of our kids so please reach out to us if you need any additional support.
Next week marks the end of term one. I know that comes with a series of assessments. I hope the kids are getting some rest as they attend to their academic obligations this weekend.
The regular season for fall athletics has also come to a close and many of our teams are headed to post season competition as I type this. Good luck to all the fall teams and I hope to see you fans out there cheering them on!
The Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team takes on Wachusett in the first round of the MIAA volleyball tournament, Saturday, November 1 at 3:00pm at Wellesley High School. Cash only entry fees – $5 students/seniors and $10 adults. Hopefully we can get a good crowd to cheer them on!

Wellesley High School Rock Band performed at our Homecoming Event on Saturday and it was so much fun! Here’s a link to a shareable YouTube video highlighting our talented students: https://youtu.be/kYno6m5NY58?feature=shared

Senior Photo Submissions for WHS Wellesleyan Yearbook

Hello Senior Students and Parents –
Please note: Senior submissions for the WHS Wellesleyan Yearbook will be slightly different this year.
We’ve created a Google Form where Seniors will be able to upload their baby photo, and add a text entry for “Most Memorable” and “Happiest When” moments. We have also included the option for seniors to submit their own portrait from an outside photographer if not using the school’s photographer (Prestige Portraits).
These submissions must be in by 11:59PM on Friday, 11/21/25. Another email will go out in the coming days detailing the customary SENIOR ADS published in the yearbook.
Please email Tom Denman (denmant@wellesleyps.org) with any questions.

AP EXAM REGISTRATION DEADLINE

If you have any questions, please contact Jen Culver or Anne North in the Main Office.

Happy Halloween from Dudley!

One more Halloween Photo …
Well, not everyone was thrilled with their Halloween costume this year.
But Dudley our Facility “Bison” did his best to smile for the camera!

A dog wearing a lion's mane costume looks up at the camera.

I hope you have a great weekend. I’ll add to the chorus of reminders to remember to set back your clocks tonight.
Best,
Jamie
