Dear Families,
Happy Friday and welcome to the end of the first week of September. The new year is officially off and running as I’ve seen students busily working on assignments and teachers well into their opening units in their classes. Our fall athletic teams have begun competition and our first night game of the fall is tonight with football taking on Framingham. Next week will mark our first full five day week of the year, so pace yourselves!
I know there are also students still adjusting to the new year, so I want to take this opportunity to invite families to reach out to our school counselors, teachers, and administrators if there is anything we can do to help at this or any other point this year. Please never worry alone.
Below you’ll find some great pictures of our student singers who along with Dr. Kevin McDonald were on the field at Fenway Wednesday evening singing the national anthem. We also had a student win the Red Sox dance contest and lots of students show up on the Jumbotron!

And don’t miss this short movie of our students singing the National Anthem at Fenway Park:

Painting Event in Honor of 9/11
Hello Wellesley High! Join us after school on Tuesday, September 9th at the picnic tables for a Kindness Rock Painting event in honor of 9/11. The tragic events of that day—and the days that followed—were driven by hate, but we believe that kindness is the strongest force to drive out such darkness. Together, we’ll paint rocks with uplifting words and images to spread compassion throughout our community and honor the resilience that comes from love and unity.
This event is being organized by the Wellesley High Project 351 Ambassadors and will be led by senior alumni Claire Mullen. Please register using this Google Form, and for more information about service and kindness initiatives, visit Project 351. All are welcome, and we can’t wait to see you there!
