Daily Announcements for 2/2/2026

~Today is Monday February 2, 2026, Day 6

~Block rotation: C, A, B, Advisory, D, G, E, F

~Lunch: 6, 7, 8

On Saturday 30 of our 7th and 8th Grade musicians auditioned for the Junior District Music Festival.  These students had to perform a prepared piece, sight read music on the spot, and perform a variety of scales in front of judges in a very rigorous audition process.  Their preparation, progress, and conduct is truly commendable.  Thank you for being stellar ambassadors of Wellesley Middle School.

Congratulations to all ten of the Wellesley competitors at the Mathcounts Chapter competition on Saturday. Our team finished 2nd place and will advance to compete at the State meet next month. Special shout-out to 7th grader Max Wang who took home the winning trophy on Saturday.

This week is National School Counseling Week! This is an annual event to recognize the unique impact and contributions of school counselors. Please wish your counselor a Happy National School Counselor Week. Shout outs go to: Ms. D’Allesandro, Mrs. Rogers, Ms. Wallace, Mr. Craft, Ms. Caveney, Ms. Dufour, Ms. Feldman, and Ms. Mahoney. Counselors always say that the best part of their job is meeting with students.

Black History Month, also known as African American History Month, takes place every February to honor the accomplishments of Black people in the United States and the important roles they have played in the past and the present. Starting today, WMS will be asking daily trivia questions as we learn more about Black History month. Our first question is: “Whose refusal to give up her seat on a public bus sparked a boycott of Montgomery, AL buses from 1955-1956?” If you think you know the answer, come down to the main office and make your guess. We will have prizes each week.

6th grade students in Ms. Moore’s tutoring program, please report directly to the library after school today.

The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today.  The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcements for their departure from WMS.

Have a good day everyone!

Please note that the daily announcements are sometimes subject to change during the school day. When this happens the announcements will be updated on the website and on the video screen in the WMS lobby, but a new email will not be sent.
