If you have an EpiPen or Inhaler in the WMS nurse’s office, please stop by the nurse’s office today to pick it up and bring it home for the summer.
Today we will change the order of lunches to accommodate the 8th grade schedule:
11:25-11:50 Grade 8
11:54-12:19 Grade 7
12:23-12:48 Grade 6
A Message from the Tech Deck:
-
All Loaner iPads and district owned iPads were collected yesterday. If you still have one, please return it to the Tech Deck this morning.
-
No iPads should be in school today and Monday.
To all students, you will be turning in your Yondr pouches today in Advisory. All students are responsible for returning their pouch or paying $30, if it is lost or damaged. If you have a pouch, and unsure of its condition, you still need to turn it in to your Advisory teacher. All pouches should be unlocked when collected. If it is not, teachers will see a pull down option in the spreadsheet to record this status. Also, students should have their device powered down and put into your backpacks for the entire day. We will remain a device-free school until we dismiss on Monday. We want to be consistent in our approach to smart devices until the very end of the year.
There are still 57 books checked out of the library. Is one of them yours? Bring back your books as soon as possible!
Let’s give a massive round of applause to the winners of the 7th Grade Name That Tune competition! After 18 intense rounds of heated musical trivia, one team proved their ultimate playlist mastery and emerged victorious. Huge congratulations to our reigning champions: Neev Golhar, Molin Ran, Rafa Galvao Lima, Edwin Rodriguez. Way to rock the competition!
Lost and found is piling up again. Please check the table outside the main office for any items you may have lost. Unclaimed items will be donated over the summer.
Are you curious about what people in our WMS community will be celebrating tomorrow? Tomorrow is the celebration of Juneteenth. Juneteenth is a celebration of the end of legal slavery in the US. It is now a state and federal holiday in the United States. Juneteenth recognizes the day one of the last communities holding on to enslaved people of African descent in the United States received word that they had been “freed” – two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. In many cities, people participate by holding parades, dances, races, and having barbecues, while educating participants about the history and legacy of slavery and emancipation in the US. In Boston there is a big event in Franklin Park every year. We wish all people at WMS celebrating this holiday “Happy Juneteenth.”
There will be no 3:30 pm bus to Boston today. All students riding to Boston will be taking the 2:30 pm bus. The late bus in Wellesley will leave at 3:30 pm.
Have a good day everyone!
Please note that the daily announcements are sometimes subject to change during the school day. When this happens the announcements will be updated on the website and on the video screen in the WMS lobby, but a new email will not be sent.
