A message from the Tech Deck: A reminder to any 7th or 8th grade student who has not yet picked up their iPad to please stop by the Tech Deck later today to get your device.
SpongeBob the musical auditions are coming up NEXT WEEK! If you are interested, please come to Rm 363 where you can find all information needed on joining the Google Classroom. Please see Ms. Fine or Ms. Speed with any questions later today.
For all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students interested in learning more about the Wellesley Middle School Cross Country team, there will be a brief information session after school next Wednesday, September 9th, from 2:45–3:15 p.m. in thecafeteria.
Today, we will begin using our Yondr pouches in school. All Advisors will hand them out to students in our extended Advisory this morning. Each pouch is assigned and labeled to an individual student, so please ensure that the name on the pouch matches who receives it.
Once received, Advisors need to check that all Smart Devices are off and securely locked in pouches. This includes smart phones, cell phones and smart watches. Students will then store their pouch in their backpacks or lockers until the end of the school day.
At 2:22, we will be dismissing all sixth grade students early to find unlocking stations and unlock their pouches. 7th and 8th graders will be dismissed at 2:25. For seventh and eighth graders, please remember that all unlocking stations are in the same locations as last year, both inside and outside of the building. Please do not bottleneck, as there are enough places around the building for you to calmly unlock your pouches and make it to your buses. Seventh and eighth graders, please remember to be good role models for our newest students.
Ongoing, your Yondr pouch is your responsibility to care for daily. If you try to open it any other way, it will be considered vandalism of school property, and consequences will be given. On Friday morning upon arrival, you will be expected to show monitors that you are locking your smart devices into them before you report to the Auditorium and/or gyms. Do not lock your devices into your pouches before arrival. They will be checked at the entryways and/or doors.
Advisors, if a student is absent today, please return the pouch to the main office. We will be collecting devices in the morning for those who do not have them, and returning their smart devices and pouches to them throughout the day.
Yesterday, some of you did not have bus passes or were not on our bus list. If either of these apply to you, please stop by the main office later today for us to verify with you your placement on the bus. We want to take care of this before the buses load and leave at the end of the day.
There will be no late buses to Boston or Wellesley this afternoon, or Friday. All bus riders must take the 2:30 pm bus.
The library will be closed after school today.
