Thank you to all faculty and staff for a very successful Back to School Night yesterday evening. We would also like to thank parents and guardians for attending and showing support for our students and school.
Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating this week? Today there are two major harvest holidays that people will be celebrating: the Mid-Autumn Festival in China, and Chuseok in Korea. Tonight also begins the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. The Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival, is a family-centered holiday celebrating togetherness and a good harvest. Moon cakes are foods often eaten at this festival. Chuseok is the harvest festival that also honors and celebrates deceased ancestors. Sukkot is the week-long Harvest Festival that celebrates the gathering of the harvest. It also commemorates the protection provided for the children of Israel when they left Egypt. We wish all people at WMS observing these holidays, a happy Mid-Autumn Festival, happy Chuseok, and happy Sukkot.
There will be no 3:30 pm bus to Boston today. All students riding to Boston will be taking the 2:30 pm bus. The late bus in Wellesley will leave at 3:30 pm.
Have a good day everyone!
Please note that the daily announcements are sometimes subject to change during the school day. When this happens the announcements will be updated on the website and on the video screen in the WMS lobby, but a new email will not be sent.
