~Today is Monday, May 6, 2024, Day 3

~Block rotation: C, A, B, Advisory, D, G, E, F

~Lunch: 6, 8, 7

Quiet lunch will meet in Room 208B today.

Beginning today for 6th and 7th grade lunch, students will be assigned as compost monitors to help make this a school wide effort. Ms. Gordon will notify you ahead of time and if assigned, this will take the place of sweeping duty and will be a one day only responsibility. Details will be provided. Thanks to everyone for helping make our school a greener place!

This past Friday the 7th grade Chorus, 7th and 8th grade Band, 8th grade Orchestra, and Monday Jazz Band performed at a music competition before enjoying the remainder of the day at Six Flags. The judges awarded each group a Superior rating, which is the highest award available. Congratulations to the musicians and we look forward to your spring concerts in late May and early June!

Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community commemorated yesterday? Yesterday was Yom Hashoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day. Many people in the United States observe Holocaust Remembrance Day. According to the U.S. Holocaust Museum, it is a day “to honor the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and millions of other victims of Nazism and to develop educational programs to help prevent future genocides.” We also remember that the choices people make matter in helping or hurting others.

Have a good day everyone!
