Schofield School
Go Hawks
Hello Schofield Families,
Thank you to all of the families who coordinated and volunteered at the Bingo for Books event on Tuesday night. It was such a joy to watch students rush to the table for books when they won and it is always great to have younger siblings (future Schofield Hawks) joining in the fun.
Looking Ahead to Next Year:
Thank you to parents who have emailed me to share class placement considerations for their children. While we aren’t able to honor requests for specific teachers, we do value the input you provide and use it to set students up for success.
It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to one of our beloved teachers who is retiring at the end of this year after 30 years of dedicated service to Schofield. In her time here, Ms. Nakayama has touched the lives of countless students, parents and colleagues and we are grateful for her unwavering support of and advocacy for students. Thank you doesn’t seem like nearly enough. Ms. Nakayama will be truly missed!
With Ms. Nakayama’s retirement and the reduction of a kindergarten class, there will be some movement regarding teacher assignments for the 2023-2024 school year. Between now and the start of next school year, things may need to shift due to unforeseen resignations or leaves of absence. However, at this time the teacher assignments for next year will be the following:
Kindergarten: Mrs. Hood and Mrs. Morris
1st Grade: Ms. Lydon, Ms. Sanborn and Mrs. Bergeron
2nd Grade: Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. Hale and Ms. Paterson
3rd Grade: Ms. Fleming, Ms. Gilmartin and Ms. Balta
4th Grade: Ms. El-Lakkis, Mr. Ward and Ms. Kilpatrick
5th Grade: Mr. Moretti, Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Doyle
Boston Marathon
We have some Schofield and Wellesley community members running the marathon this year and know they would appreciate extra encouragement when they run through Wellesley. If you are looking to support some of the runners in our community, please check out this link.
I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable April vacation. I look forward to seeing all of our hawks back at Schofield on Monday, April 24th.
Sincerely,
Jordan
