Work on the Walnut Street reconstruction project resumes on Tuesday, April 18. Pedestrians and drivers should expect sidewalk closures and possible traffic delays.

The work was halted in December due to the Department of Public Works winter roadwork moratorium.

Contractors with J. H. Lynch will resume installing curbing, rebuilding sidewalks, and improving the roadway.

Regular construction work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Please note: Due to the Boston Marathon, no work will be done on Monday, April 17.

Police details will be present in the area to help with vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Please allow extra travel time or use alternate routes if possible while traveling in this area during the construction hours.

On Sunday, April 30 to Monday,  May 1, night crews will be milling the road to prepare for paving. This schedule is subject to change due to weather.

For questions or concerns about this project, please contact the Wellesley DPW Engineering Division  at 781-235-7600  ext.3315 or email dpw@wellesleyma.gov
