Dear Sprague Community, It’s Thanksgiving week! I hope you and your children will all enjoy some time with friends and family. We often think about that for which we are grateful around Thanksgiving, but truly being grateful every day, all year long has many benefits. As you know, recognizing our blessings promotes positivity in and of itself.  That said, the folks at Open Circle shared an article you might find interesting. They remind us that taking a consistent grateful mindset is linked to more joy, optimism, and even a stronger immune system. I am also attaching a children’s book list with books having themes of gratitude. I am attaching them here. OpenCircleBeingGratefulNov2015.pdf  OpenCircleBeingGratefulliterature2015.pdf  Dress for the weather Please be sure your children are dressed for cold weather and outdoor play as the temperatures begin to drop.  We are outside in the AM unless it is 20 degrees or colder. Look for the flag to indicate whether or not we are waiting indoors. PIN numbers You should have received your child’s new 4-digit PIN number in a letter that was sent home yesterday. If you did not, you will receive it today. Please have your child practice this number. The keypad will look like the one on the letter. We will begin using the new PIN system on December 1st. Art Our Art Teacher, Jen Stabnick is expecting her baby in early January. Student teacher Kaitlin Holzapfel has returned to Sprague to finish her practicum next month. She is a student at BU. Kaitlin will fill in as our art teacher while Jen is on maternity leave. We are very fortunate to have Kaitlin, as she has done an excellent job student teaching and really knows our students well. The transition should be very smooth and Jen will be available to consult with her during her leave.
