Dear Sprague Community,

Can you believe it is November already??? It was so fun to see the creativity displayed in so many Halloween costumes yesterday. I am amazed at how well our classrooms can transition from the Halloween parade back to the classroom setting and focus on learning again. We are again participating in the Candy Drive. Families may send Halloween candy to school between Nov. 1 and Nov. 8. We will coordinate with the Wellesley Dental Group and the large shipment will make its way overseas to U.S. troops. We hope to include cards or letters from students to soldiers. Students can write to thank soldiers for their service and tell them some news from back home. Students are instructed to not include personal information or addresses in their letters. We will collect them in the office as well. Collections for the Cradles to Crayons drive will also be accepted all week. See the Sprague Pulse for details.

Election Day Reminder:

The presidential election is next Tuesday, Nov. 8th. As you know, it will be a late start day and school will start at 10:30 a.m. Students may arrive at Sprague between 10:15 and 10:30 that day. There will be NO BEFORE SCHOOL care for those who are signed up that day. Our food service provider, Whitson’s has told us that students will need to order lunch for Tuesday on Monday so they can prepare an adequate number of meals. Voting takes place in our gym and voters may only enter through the side door by the gym. Voters do not have access to the rest of the school. Voters are asked to park in marked spaces in our lot during the school day.

News from Wellesley Parents of Performing Students (POPS):

“Beauty and the Beast” is coming up the weekend of November 10-12 and is an ideal show for young children and their families. The magic of Disney will take over the WHS stage for four performances, including a Saturday matinee. And, as always, the cast is superb!
