Walk to School Day
My apologies for confusion about Walk to School Day. I believe it was listed as 2 different dates in different communications. We did have Walk to School today, Feb. 5, but will also have a makeup Walk to School tomorrow for any students who thought it was Feb. 6 due to the miscommunication. Ms. Flitsch will set up a table tomorrow. If your child walked today, they need not sign in again. The next Walk to School day is March 6—I think that is how we got mixed up!
PTO meeting change—The February PTO meeting will be THURSDAY, FEB. 14that 9:00 AM.
A-Catemy Awards
For families new to Sprague, I’d like to explain our annual celebration of great books called the A-Catemy Awards. It will take place on March 1stat 9:00 AM. Students vote for favorite books within categories, much like the Academy Awards (or the Oscars). It is always as close to Dr. Seuss’ birthday as possible (March 2) as that is National Read Across America Day—thus the name A-Catemy Awards (like Cat in the Hat). Students are invited to dress in fancy clothes and walk our ‘red carpet.’ Parents are invited to come take pictures like ‘paparazzi,’ or ‘mama-razzi.’
It’s a fun event, so mark your calendar if you’d like to join us!
