Dear Sprague Community,

We had great fun at the A-Catemy Awards on Friday. Many thanks to our Sprague Assembly Committee for their work in planning the event: Kristan Fiore, Genie Madden, Karen Lindquist, Christina Cooney, Taryn Drake, Sammy Gradwohl and Sara Jauniskis. Special thanks also to Brian Hagar-McKee and Margaret Flitsch for sharing their musical talents. You may not realize that Ms. Flitsch is masterful at the drumroll! We honored local author (and Postman) Wayne Watson, who wrote a children’s book about “Gus, The Goose.” You might see a copy of the book on display at the Post Office if you stop in the Post Office. We also want to thank all the parents who came to make walking the red carpet so special for our students and faculty. It wouldn’t be fun to dress up without an audience! This year’s categories and winners are:

Favorite Hat Books – “You Must Bring a Hat”

Open House

Our annual Open House day is Friday, March 22 from 8:00 AM- 9:30 AM. As it is an open house, parents can come at any time during the time window and do not need to stay for the entire hour and half. Classrooms will have student work to share. Children are the guides on this day. They will show their families around the school and share work. We plan to have an Art Show and display student artwork for our Open House this year as well. At 9:00 AM, we will have a short school gathering with a sing along. We hope you can come!

Please remember, this is not a day for individual parent conferences. Your child’s teacher will send a sign up for this. Parent Conferences are scheduled for March 27, April 2, and April 3 between 12:40 and 3:00 PM.

For Grade 5 Parents

Wellesley Middle School will host the parents of incoming sixth grade students on Thursday, March 28, 2019. The evening will begin at 6:15 PM with parent check-in and music by the WMS Jazz Band. Greetings from our principal and curriculum presentations will begin promptly at 6:30 PM.  The evening’s overview of electives and specials classes will end around 8:45 PM, with refreshments and an opportunity mingle with WMS administrators for questions and answers until 9:00 PM.
