Dear Sprague/Hunnewell,

Wishing a wonderful holiday weekend to those that honor and recognize the Yom Kippur holiday.

Our first Walk/Roll-to-School Day was a smashing success with 297 walkers and/or rollers.  It was a beautiful day to kick off the monthly event.  Thank you for your support!  In addition, thank you to the Walk/Roll-to-School parent volunteers and Ms. Flitsch.

Our first PTO Meeting was standing room only.  Thank you to the PTO and its many members, volunteers, and active supporters.

Note from the Nurse’s Office:  Screenings

Screenings:

  • The required school screenings (vision K-5, hearing K-3, and height & weight – grades 1 and 4) will take place during the first 2 weeks of October

  • Chris Babicz will send home a written letter if anything is required as a result of the vision and hearing screenings

  • The required height and weight measurements for 1st and 4th grade students are for statistical purposes only for the MA DPH

  • Postural screening will take place in the spring

Physical Exams:

  • To 4th and 5th grade families –   please upload an updated physical for your student to the SNAP Parent Portal if you have not already done so

Car Line Process – Your Help is Needed, Please

  • It has been observed and noted that the morning car line process is not operating as we would like it to.  Your help is needed!

  • When driving through the car line, please pull all the way up to the main entrance of the school area and have students exit the car there

  • In addition, please do not exit your car to say goodbye to your child – this holds up the process and does not support our goals of student independence

  • I feel strongly that my presence is needed for students when on the playground area each morning.  As a result, I spend my mornings on the playground supervising and assisting students versus monitoring the adult car line process
