Dear Sprague Families,

To those that celebrate the Easter holiday, Happy Easter!

On behalf of all of Sprague, we appreciate the active home/school connection during conferences!  

Congratulations to our grade five students for completing round one of MCAS testing.  Each was well-prepared, open minded, and put their noses to the grindstone.  For that, we are proud!

MCAS Testing This Week (Grade 4)

  • The annual state testing (MCAS) begins this week!

  • Thursday, April 4th and Friday, April 5th – ELA testing – Grade 4

  • Please make sure all students get a sound night’s sleep, a hearty breakfast, and arrive to school on time

 

MCAS Dates

  • Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) testing is for students in grades 3-5 only

  • Grade 3 ELA MCAS April 8th and 9th

Parent/Teacher Conferences

  • Tuesday, April 2nd – ½ day with dismissal at 12:00 pm

  • Wednesday, April 3rd

 

Walk/Roll-to-School Day

  • Tuesday, April 2nd
  • 8:15 am top 8:30 am
  • Please meet Ms. Flitsch and the parent volunteers at the front entrance to receive your footie

 

Tuesday, April 2nd – Dismissal at 12:00 pm

  • Due to conferences on Tuesday, April 2nd, dismissal will begin at 12:00 pm

 

Total Solar Eclipse

  • Monday, April 8th

  • 3:29 pm is when the total eclipse is to occur – Do not miss it!

  • Northern Eclipse Details.April 8, 2024 – PLEASE REVIEW THESE DETAILS

  • WhenMonday, April 8th from 2:45 pm to 4:00 pm

  • Who – All students and staff will participate and families are welcome to join as well

  • What – A total solar eclipse and we will be able to see it from our very own field! We will provide eclipse glasses so everyone can safely watch the eclipse in action.  

  • Where – Please join us on the Sprague fields starting at 2:45 pm.  In the event of inclement weather, the event will take place in the gymnasium, where we will watch a live broadcast.  

  • The event will conclude by 4:00 pm – all students will need to be picked up on the field no later than 4:00 pm

  • Dismissal – We will follow all dismissal plans according to the permission slip.  For those wishing for their child(ren) to be dismissed at 3:05, normal procedures will take place.  If your child/ren is/are staying for the eclipse after 3:05 pm, please note that you are asked to park and meet us on the field for dismissal no later than 4:00 pm.

SPECIAL EDUCATION PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS COFFEE

  • Join us on Thursday, April 4th from 9-10:30 for our monthly PAC coffee! 

  • The coffee will be at the home of Christine Mizzi at 16 Suffolk Road

  • The PAC supports families in town who have children (PAWS through WHS) that are receiving special education services from the district

  • If you are unable to attend but want to learn more, please reach out Sprague PAC rep Nicole Katz (nicolestacykatz@gmail.com)
