Dear Hunnewell and Upham,

Working with elementary children and watching them work through problems reminds me that the most straightforward approach is always the best. I know, but “Mr. Dees, the world is so complicated!” Believe me! I am usually the one making it complicated. My go-to for simple thought and simple solutions is Dr. Seuss. I was recently reminded of this quote. “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” It underscores the fundamental importance of individual responsibility and empathy in making positive change happen. This quote encourages us to recognize that real transformation and progress are not passive endeavors; they require active involvement and concern from individuals. It serves as a powerful reminder that our actions and dedication have the potential to drive improvements and bring about positive outcomes. By caring deeply about each other, we become catalysts for meaningful change, and it emphasizes that we each have a role to play in shaping a better future. Dr. Seuss’ words encourage us to be proactive, engaged, and compassionate. Each day, I see our students and teachers S.O.A.R. with a wonderful attitude centered on caring. Have a great weekend. Thank you for being so supportive.

Dare to Dream,

Mr. Dees
