Schofield School

Go Hawks

Hello Schofield Families,

It is hard to believe we have only four days remaining in the school year.  I have truly enjoyed getting to know your children and your family this year and thank you for welcoming me (and my family) into this special community.  Last weekend’s Schofield 5K was such an awesome event to close out the school year.  Great job to all of you who ran the race!  Vivian (10) and Graham (11) are eager to run next year, while Josephine (10) is happy to hang back and cheer everyone on as they cross the finish line.  Thank you to our PTO and ALL of the volunteers who made the event such a huge success.

Around Schofield This Week:
Our fifth graders performed their “Broadway and Beyond” show on Thursday morning under the leadership of Mr. Polletto. The fifth graders put on an outstanding show which was a wonderful culmination of their exceptional music education at Schofield.  Following the performance, families were invited back to their classrooms to see their passion projects. Students shared the books they wrote, artwork, robotic creations and more.  Bravo to our fifth graders who have continued to impress me this year.

Important Update from Nurse Miller:
Parents may pick up their student’s medication, inhalers, or epipens during school hours on Thursday, June 15th or Friday, June 16th from 8:30-11.  Anything left after the 16th will be properly disposed of.  Thank you for your assistance and have a great summer!

Last Week of School:
Students’ last day of school is scheduled for Thursday, June 15th with dismissal at 12:00PM.  For this reason, Wednesday, June 14th is a FULL day of school.  Please be sure to update PickUp Patrol for these two days so that we can make sure to dismiss students safely.

Clap Out:
It is a Schofield tradition to clap out our fifth graders at dismissal on the last day of school.  Students and staff will line the hallways at 11:50 on the very last day of school, June 15th, to applaud the fifth graders as they exit the building.  Fifth graders will exit from the doors near the modular classrooms/art room where parents can greet them on the blacktop.

Wellesley Summer Learning Site:
Summer is a great time for students to explore new interests, engage in fun activities, and continue their educational journey in a relaxed and enjoyable way.  Check out the WPS Summer Learning Website for some great ideas to help your children keep their skills sharp in the coming months.

Best,
Jordan
