Hello Upham Community,

I hope you are doing well and everyone is remaining safe. I promise this will be a short message because I am sure everyone is very tired of reading emails, meeting on ZOOM conferences, or just being plugged in. I want to share a few items and dates for the ending of the…what would you call this…this madness.

The teachers are in the school today(with social distancing and masks) cleaning their rooms. We are placing all of the student materials in bags with their names on the bags. On Wednesday, June 3 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm you can pick up your child’s bags. We will place the bags on the walkway in front of the building next to the drop-off line. The bags will be arranged sequentially beginning with kindergarten and ending with fifth grade. You can pull up and retrieve your child’s bag. If you cannot make this date we will keep your child’s bags and I will arrange a drop off for later in the summer.

Our virtual 5th grade Moving On Ceremony will occur on Friday, June 12 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. Although this will be a shortened version of our regular celebration it will bring some sort of closure and recognition to our current 5th graders. I will send a ZOOM invite on Friday, June 12 at 10:30 am. I look forward to celebrating our students.

Our last day of school is Tuesday, June 16. We will hold a virtual “end of the year” sing-a-long beginning at 11:00 am. We cannot complete the year without the singing of “Charlie on the MTA.” I will also send the ZOOM invite at 10:30 am. Please join us for the celebration and sing-a-long.

Please stay safe. Thank you for your support and continuous partnership as teachers.

Dare to Dream,

Mr. Dees
