Description: The WHS Research Journal is a new concept to celebrate amazing research already happening at Wellesley High School. Inspired by the work done in AP Seminar and AP research, students would build their research and writing skills and have the opportunity to explore research-related careers, including possible mentorship and internship opportunities. Students would gain experience in building graphic design, layout, copyediting, and proofreading.
Description: The Wellesley Historical Society aims to create a learning space for those wanting to learn more about the nature of their town and its surroundings. In our weekly meetings, we will discuss the history behind specific locations such as town parks and forests, and learn how it has become what it is today. We plan to prioritize the collaboration of the students, allowing them to participate and choose what we research each week to keep the club inclusive and interesting to everyone. We will work to combine both the details of history and the personal, relatable connection to the nature that we walk through each day.
Location: Outside of the school by the woodworking and music rooms.
Advisor: Mr. Glynn
Description: We play pcikup wiffle ball games outside on Fridays after school. All students are welcome to join! We play for about an hour, there are trophies, and everyone has lots of fun!
Description: The Women Authors Book club is dedicated to highlighting women’s literary voices. We focus on short stories and poetry, so that no outside reading is necessary, as we understand the workload of Wellesley students. A gender-inclusive environment, we host a platform for light hearted discussions about literature. We meet every other Wednesday at 2:30 in Phillips house, so feel free to drop by!
Description: Our mission is to encourage girls to further their love of science. Through engaged science based conversations, teaching young girls science activities, and collaboration, we seek to improve students understanding of STEM and it’s importance. We think students will have interest in our science convention in the winter, and helping out at the Girls in Stem club at the middle school.
Description: Our club came together in 23-24 specifically to raise funds in support of the Wounded Warrior Project. This year we have expanded our view and are looking at supporting veterans' causes in general through community activities and volunteer opportunities.
