Description: PALS works to bust the myth of psychologyÕs sole use as a reactive clinical practice and aims to build studentsÕ understanding of their minds and behavior in everyday life. Each month we explore topics in psychology that are relevant to studentsÕ cultural experiences and employ positive psychology to facilitate better social and cognitive practices.
Description: Students investigate philosophical topics. They choose the topics and the format [e.g., readings, debate, researched presentations & discussions]. I [Dr. Shay (Ph.D. in philosophy)] do not guide the club, but I am on hand to provide information that seems relevant to the current discussion [e.g., how a thinker's ideas relate to another's, what was happening in society when this thinker was active, the logical relation between opposing views].
Description: Students participate in group project photoshoot projects, photo taking excursions inside, and outside of the school. Students develop, and print their photographs in the darkroom. Students post their best photos on the Photo Club Instagram, and a Photo Club exhibit around the school.
