Science Olympiad

Schedule: Fridays after school, 2:30 – 3:30
Description: The Science Team competes in five monthly meets in the Western Suburban Science League, invitational meets, and the culminating event for the year: the Massachusetts State Science Olympiad competition. There are 23 separate events in Science Olympiad, which are organized into the following five categories: Life, Personal, and Social Science; Earth and Space Science; Physical Science and Chemistry; Technology and Engineering; and Inquiry & Nature of Science The emphasis for this club is creative problem solving necessitating teamwork, rather than individualized work. Membership is open to all interested students grades 9-12.

Songwriting Club

Schedule: Mondays 2:30-3:30
Description: The Songwriting Club is a friendly, welcoming space for people to learn or practice songwriting, collaborate, get feedback, and experiment with music.

Spanish Club

Schedule: Tuesdays after school
Description: This club works to promote the Spanish language and cultures throughout the Spanish speaking world.

Sports Debate Club

Schedule: Thursdays 2:30
Description: Get together to discuss topics in Sports from including favorite + least favorite teams, controversial decisions, memorable moments, and all debates that may arise across all fandom.

Step Team

Schedule: Wednesday (Half-days not included)
Description: Step is rhythmic body percussive performance, in other words using your body as a drum making rhythmic patterns

Stock Options Club

Schedule: Every other Tues 2:30-3:00
Description: The Stock Options Club meets to discuss the market on a bi-weekly basis. The group engages in investing activities, trade modeling, and furthering participants knowledge about investing. The club is open to all and designed for any level, from experts to those who have limited investing experience.

Student Congress

Schedule: Mondays after school @ 2:30PM
Description: Student Congress is an organization dedicated to representing the interests of all students within the school and working toward a positive school atmosphere. The Congress is a voice through which students address and act upon school and community issues. The Congress works for unity among students, faculty, administration and parents. Members serve on school wide committees with teachers and parents. Congress is proud to sponsor Seminar Day, Club Day, and other activities scattered throughout the school year. Student Congress is open to all. Congress meets every Monday afternoon. Membership is a year-long commitment. Officers include: President, two Vice-Presidents, Secretary-Treasurer, plus three School Council members-the President, and two elected at-large. One student representative to the Council will be appointed annually by the Principal. Terms for all Congress positions are for one year. Three non-voting student representatives to the School Committee are elected each year for a one year term.

SUP (Student Unification Program)

Schedule: Periodically throughout the year (most frequently in the Fall)
Description: The mission of SUP (established in 2010) is to provide opportunities for students at WHS to gather together, thus promoting unity, school spirit, and a growing sense of belonging in and stewardship for this community. The leaders and members of SUP meet at intervals throughout the year to plan these experiences (e.g. Spirit Week, Pep Rally events, All-School Talent Show, 9th grade Welcome Barbecue). Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join!
