Including Coaches & Activities Advisors
As we discuss the social and emotional wellbeing of students, it is important to remind ourselves that the faculty and staff of Wellesley High School are in consistent and direct communication with students on a daily basis. Most often the professionals who work closely with students, including teachers, staff members, coaches and activities advisors, will be the first to notice changes in a student’s behavior that may relate to social or emotional concerns. Furthermore, because of the supportive relationships that form between students and these staff members, students are most likely to first report personal issues to someone they feel is a trusted adult in the building.
When concerning issues arise, WHS professionals are trained to appropriately communicate and refer students to the social and emotional supports that exist in the building and community.
