¡Bienvenid@s/Welcome to the Wellesley Public Schools K–5 World Languages Program!

Languages for ALL: Building Communication, Culture, and Connection

Through meaningful communication, cultural exploration, and engaging learning experiences, students develop the skills, perspectives, and confidence to connect with others in Spanish and beyond. Our program helps students see language as a tool for communication, understanding, and connection in an increasingly interconnected world.

We believe that every child can learn another language and that language learning helps students better understand themselves, their communities, and the diverse world around them.

Discover how our students learn to communicate, connect, and explore the world through Spanish. Hear directly from our teachers and students as they share what makes language learning in Wellesley meaningful, engaging, and fun.

What Makes Our Program Unique

Our students do more than learn about Spanish. They learn to use Spanish.

Through stories, songs, conversations, movement, games, authentic resources, and collaborative learning experiences, students develop the ability to communicate in meaningful ways while exploring cultures, perspectives, and connections that extend beyond the classroom.

Language learning in Wellesley is rooted in the belief that multilingualism is an asset and that every learner deserves opportunities to communicate, contribute, and succeed.
