Dear Colleagues,

Happy Valentine’s Day! While the weather keeps reminding us that we are mid-winter, transition work is well underway for SY2025-26.  In addition to registering our rising kindergarten students, our 8th grade students had a chance to visit WHS this week in preparation for their big move “across the bridge”! Last night, our Performing Arts Department hosted the first of its “Step-Up” concerts to welcome our soon-to-be 9th graders to WHS with a night filled with amazing music from our talented WHS choral groups.  I’m so thankful to all of our colleagues who are supporting these and other transitions that our students will be making as we progress throughout the spring semester.

Congratulations to our Girls’ Indoor Track Team, who won their 8th straight championship this week!

Today of all days, I hope you each have a chance to connect with loved ones.  Whether through chocolates, flowers, or a simple phone call, it’s a great time to show gratitude to the people who make a difference in our lives.

As we begin our February recess later today, please accept my wishes for a restful, safe, and happy break that is well-deserved.  (My wife and I will be celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary on Wednesday!)

Thanks for what you do each day across our district to support our students, families and each other.

Best, David
