Superintendent’s Bulletin

September 5, 2025

Dear Colleagues,
I hope you each had a productive second week at school. Lots of great things happening around the district this week. On Wednesday night, our WHS Keynotes and Rice String singers performed the National Anthem at the Red Sox game, which the crowd loved. (I wish the Sox playing had been of the same high quality!) Thanks to Kevin McDonald for his leadership to make this terrific opportunity happen!

A group of people in red shirts stand on a baseball field in front of a scoreboard.
Tonight, the fall athletic season shifts into high gear with our first home football game under the lights vs. Framingham. Please consider coming out to support our Raiders at our beautiful home field, which now also has bathrooms and a new concession stand.
A sandwich board sign advertises 'Friday Night Lights' with game details.
Next week, several of our schools have their back-to-school nights.  Thanks to all of our colleagues for using this opportunity to build strong connections with our parents/caregivers.  Attendees likely won’t remember everything you say, but they will remember how you make them feel as you discuss your approach to teaching and learning, classroom protocols, etc.  It’s a great chance to make a strong first impression with our families.
Finally, WPS still has some open positions we would like to fill as soon as possible.  Please check out of our employment page for details and help spread the word! https://wellesleyps.schoolspring.com
Thanks to all of our staff for what you do to support our students, families, and each other.  Enjoy a well-deserved weekend!
Best, David
