The Wellesley Public Schools may share student directory information with select independent organizations, unless you choose to opt out. This option is granted annually during the PowerSchool update process that begins in August. For 2024-25, those select independent organizations are: the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) for the student’s school, the Wellesley Education Foundation (WEF), the Wellesley Scholarship Foundation (WSF), Parents of Performing Students (POPS), and Wellesley Parents Supporting Art Students (WPSAS).
Guidelines for Submission of Event Information to PTOs
All narratives submitted to PTOs by the Central Office must meet District guidelines. The guidelines provide that items must be directly related to school- or Town-based community events. Each organization may submit one announcement per month during the school year. Announcements must be 2-4 sentences at most and may include links to your organization’s web site and/or a flyer. We also encourage you to advise interested readers to subscribe to your email distribution list if applicable. Announcements may include one image (e.g. organization’s logo).
The Wellesley Public Schools is not responsible for any misprints and/or misinformation contained within the information shared with us. The Wellesley Public Schools will do its best to accommodate, in a timely manner, all posting requests that meet the guidelines. Items are typically shared with the PTOs on Thursday afternoons, so please provide notices no later than 9 a.m. Thursday for consideration. No new flyers will be shared during the summer, the first week of school, school vacations or the last full week of school. Narrative and/or flyers should be submitted for approval to Allison DiRenzo at direnzoa@wellesleyps.org.
