Dear Colleagues,
Welcome back again to school year 2017-2018! Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting our new colleagues at our New Teacher Orientation. Special thanks to Assistant Superintendent Joan Dabrowski and PD Director Chelsea Bailow for organizing that two-day program. I also want to thank IT Director Kathy Dooley and her team for organizing the technology “Boot Camp” for these new staff that took place on Friday. At your schools and in your departments, I know our team will do everything we can to ensure the success of our new colleagues.
Of course, our All-Staff Kickoff on Monday was exciting, and I want to give a shout-out to Steve Scott and Kevin McDonald for working with our students to provide such outstanding music to start our day.
On Wednesday, we welcomed our students for their first day of school and as I traveled around the district, I was so impressed with the energy and excitement I saw among students and teachers. I especially enjoyed meeting our kindergarten students on their first day seeing the wonder in their eyes. Many of these students will be part of our WPS family for the next 13 years and their first day will be a special memory for them and their families.
With a well-deserved long weekend in sight, I hope you each enjoy some time to catch your breath as we all work to establish our sea legs again. Thanks to our entire team for a great opening week!

Please be aware that we added a new feature called “Internal Job Postings” under the Faculty tab of the District’s website. We will post all of our internal jobs under this website tab. Therefore, you will no longer see internal job postings in the bulletin. This new way of posting will allow us to post internal positions any day of the week.
