Dear Colleagues,
What a great opening week! I appreciated the enthusiasm that you brought to our all-staff kickoff event on Monday and again on Wednesday, as you welcomed our students on their first day of the new school year. Weren’t our student performers terrific on Monday? (Many thanks to Kevin McDonald for his efforts to make this happen!) I’m hoping that the theme of building and sustaining relationships is one that can guide our efforts together this year. Obviously, this is critical in our work with students, particularly at the start of the year as we are settling into our classrooms. I’m hoping this can also guide the many collaborations we have as colleagues throughout the district. To this end, I plan to have an even greater presence in schools this year to keep lines of communications open with you all. I would also very much welcome invitations to visit your classrooms or to have a conversation with you over lunch.
In the meantime, please enjoy a well-deserved holiday weekend and thanks again for helping to support a great first week of school!
With appreciation,
David
