I hope you each had a productive week. On Wednesday, our elementary staff and students all donned “One Wellesley” shirts to highlight the unique collaboration among the seven elementary schools that has allowed our building projects to proceed this year. A special shout-out to staff member Jackie Hoglund for her shirt design as well as the parent volunteers who helped with the shirt distribution last week.
I also want to share that I have received incredibly positive feedback from parents after the many back-to-school nights that have occurred over the past few weeks. (Thank you to Dr. Ito and the WMS team for your work last night!) I believe parents are relishing these in-person events and responding to the energy and caring so evident in our buildings. Thanks to everyone for creating such strong impressions this year.
Finally, this will be a busy weekend for our community. Tomorrow, the A Better Chance (ABC) program will be hosting two events honoring the 50 years of the program in WPS. Our varsity football team will be home vs. Newton North on Saturday at 3pm. (If you’ve never been to the high school track and field, it’s a beautiful venue, especially on a fall day!) On Sunday, our Girls and Boys varsity soccer teams will be matched against Natick at Gillette Stadium. Finally, the Jimmy Fund walk will begin on Sunday morning from WHS.
However you spend your time, I hope you each have a relaxing weekend.
