Dear Colleagues,
Thanks for your perseverance in working through some very challenging school and classroom conditions this week. The unseasonably warm and humid weather made our second week back a tough one. Retrofitting our older buildings with air conditioning, while very expensive, is something I believe we will need to confront sooner rather than later. Many thanks to our colleagues who kept learning moving these past few days despite the heat!
Monday is September 11th, and it’s hard to believe that it’s been 22 years since that terrible day in 2001. Not only will I be reflecting on the lives lost that day, but I will also remember the many acts of compassion that followed along with a shared sense of national unity that seems so elusive today.
Thanks for all that you do to support our students and please enjoy a well-deserved weekend!

Human Relation Services
The Human Relation Services (HRS) can help. Wellesley Public Schools has contracted with HRS to provide up to ten free counseling visits for you and/or your family members. This program is designed to help you deal with stresses of life and work –including personal and family issues, drug or alcohol problems, and job related tension. It offers prevention and intervention to reduce these stresses and improve coping skills.
HRS is located at 11 Chapel Place in Wellesley and can be reached at 781-235-4950. This is a confidential service. Wellesley Public Schools is not aware of the names of employees or their family members who utilize this service.
