Dear Colleagues,
Happy Friday! Thanks to all of our WHS colleagues for a great back-to-school night last evening. I was especially pleased to see the mental health and wellness organizations and resources available to families as they arrived. Special thanks to Alice Goodrich and Lindsey Yamaguchi for pulling these timely resources together. Thanks also to WHS science teacher Caitlin Moniz for inviting me to join her astronomy class this week, where students were engaged in a creative, hands-on activity to map the surface of the planets and moons they were studying. I encourage any member of our staff to reach out and share opportunities for me to see your good work first-hand!
Finally, I want to end by sharing an incredibly moving story about a swimmer on our WHS girls swim team. What a great example of our core values in action and a reminder that athletics are so much more than wins and losses. Take a few minutes to read this article, you won’t regret it
Thanks for all that you do to support our students and families. Have a great weekend!
Best, David
