Colleagues,

I hope you each had a productive week.  On Wednesday, members of our Hunnewell staff had their first chance to visit their new building, just weeks away now from its official opening for students.  For the past year and a half, these staff members have been working at Bates, Hardy, Sprague, and Upham, which allowed this building project to move forward on this accelerated timeline.  Not only has this resulted in significant project savings, it means we are bringing a new, state-of-the-art school on line for our students in 2024 rather than 2026 (or later.)  With all of this mind, I want to thank the Hunnewell staff for their willingness to participate in our internal swing space plan.  Similarly, I want to thank our host schools staff for making our Hunnewell students and staff feel so welcomed during this time.  It was with incredible gratitude and pride that I listened to Hunnewell Principal Ellen Quick say to her staff on Wednesday, “Welcome home!”

Have a great weekend everyone!

David
