Dear Colleagues,
I hope you each had a productive week. While I was disappointed in the Super Bowl result on Sunday, I remain grateful for the team’s unexpected success this season and have high hopes for the Pats next year. I also appreciated the incredible half-time show that celebrated our language and cultural diversity. This seemed to dovetail nicely with the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympic Games, which also celebrated our global community with a similar message of unity.
On a separate note, I want to offer my sincere thanks to our Performing Arts Department for hosting our annual step-up concerts, which support the transition of our 8th graders to the high school. I attended the choral step-up concert this week and loved the energy in the room, which I hope inspired our 8th graders and their families as they get closer to the “crossing bridge” later this year.
On Thursday night, the Wellesley Education Foundation (WEF) sponsored a terrific evening with Greg Kulowiec, who has been one of the thought leaders around Artificial Intelligence in schools. We’ve been so fortunate to work with Greg internally this year and it was clear that the audience was keenly interested in this fast-moving topic. Greg’s slide deck can be found here:

Finally, as we head into the February recess today, I wish each of you a restful and safe break. And I wish prosperity, health, and luck to all of the members of our community observing Lunar New Year next week.
Best,
David
