Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! It was great seeing our whole team on Monday for our All-Staff Kickoff. Weren’t our students amazing? I want to thank the entire Performing Arts team for their planning efforts at the end of the summer. Each year they go the extra mile to ensure a powerful kickoff and this year was no exception.

I know I highlighted the work of our school secretaries and custodians to prepare for opening day. I also want to be sure to recognize the members of the Central Office team in the Business Office, Instructional Technology Department, Production Center, and Curriculum Office, who work behind the scenes in so many capacities to ensure a successful new year. It really does take our whole village to support the launch of schools!

A new member of our staff who I know many of you have already met is Dr. Joan Dabrowski, our Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning. I couldn’t be more pleased to have an educator of Joan’s caliber joining our team and I appreciate the warm welcome she has already received by our colleagues.

Thanks to everyone for a great opening week and I hope you each enjoy a restful Labor Day weekend!

Best regards,
