Dear Colleagues,

I hope everyone has recovered from last week’s turkey dinners and leftovers!  We had a very successful professional learning day on Monday and I want to thank the more than 70 educators who led the 50+ sessions for our colleagues throughout the day.  The feedback we have received to date has been exceptionally strong, reinforcing the value of opportunities to share our professional practice across grade levels. I also want to thank Joan Dabrowski, Chelsea Bailow and the entire Teaching and Learning team for their hard work to organize the many details of the day. Great job!

If you don’t have plans this weekend, please consider checking out the WMS production of Aladdin.  More information about show times is available on our website.

Thank you for the important work that you each day in support of students.

Best regards, David

Professional School Administrator/Leadership Licensure Program for Superintendents/Assistant Superintendents

“The Professional School Administrator Program (PSAP/LLPS) provides an opportunity for full-time administrators to obtain a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership, and their Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent MA DESE licensure. The three-year program was developed by Boston College more than three decades ago to provide an opportunity for full-time school administrators to pursue doctoral study. The Lynch School of Education at Boston College partners with the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (MASS) and Teachers21 to prepare future superintendents and school leaders for public, Catholic, charter, and independent schools. Through a cohort model that emphasizes collaborative learning and support, PSAP/LLPS aims to create a powerful network of district-level leaders throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and beyond”.

Faculty,

The holiday season is upon us, and on behalf of Student Congress at Wellesley High School, we would like to offer you an opportunity to avoid all those divisive conversations about politics around the dinner table. Instead, might we recommend you invite your loved ones to participate in this year’s Seminar Day!

If you’re a new teacher or need a refresher on what Seminar Day is, please scroll to the bottom of this post and read the short description. If you already know the gist, please consider presenting a passion of yours or reaching out to those who may have something valuable, interesting, and/or exciting for our students to hear about. We have included the sign-up form below for you. If you would like us to personally reach out to someone (family, friend, or acquaintance) who may have a topic to present to our students, please pass along any information to us. You can also feel free to send the link along to them as well. Speakers can speak for one block, two blocks, or all three!
