Dear Colleagues,

What a great first week for WPS! I enjoyed greeting you all at our kickoff on Monday. Weren’t our Performing Arts Students amazing? Special thanks to Mike LaCava and his staff for all of their efforts to plan and rehearse during the spring and summer.

We also lucked out with fabulous weather for our opening day.  I’m hoping we continue to be this fortunate for a while longer!

I was excited this week to announce the appointment of Dr. Charmie Curry as our new Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Dr. Curry joins us from the Boston Public Schools where she has held a number of roles as a teacher, principal, and administrator.  Charmie officially joins us on September 16th.

Thanks to everyone for a great opening this week and I hope you each enjoy the Labor Day weekend.

Best regards,
David
