Dear Colleagues,
I know this wasn’t an easy week for our school district, as the troubling events in the Middle East continue to unfold. Any time we support our students and families through challenging times, I am mindful that our staff are also affected and we often have to manage our own emotions as we work to support others. I am so appreciative of the good work you did this week to engage with our students and provide some sense of normalcy and safety. Leading within this context is equally complex and I have felt challenged to find the appropriate tone in speaking and writing about these events. I appreciate your notes of encouragement as well as your feedback on how I can improve. At the end of the day, we are all in this together and I am grateful to work with such committed colleagues.

WHS Fitness & Health teacher, Devin Ligon, wife Julie and daughter Blake, welcomed baby Emmett on 9/27/23. Emmett was born at 11:57 p.m. and came in at 8 lbs., 8 oz., 21 inches long.

Human Relation Services
The Human Relation Services (HRS) can help. Wellesley Public Schools has contracted with HRS to provide up to ten free counseling visits for you and/or your family members. This program is designed to help you deal with stresses of life and work –including personal and family issues, drug or alcohol problems, and job related tension. It offers prevention and intervention to reduce these stresses and improve coping skills.
HRS is located at 11 Chapel Place in Wellesley and can be reached at 781-235-4950. This is a confidential service. Wellesley Public Schools is not aware of the names of employees or their family members who utilize this service.
