David was a high school history teacher in Massachusetts, where he earned National Board Certification and was named the Massachusetts Teacher of the Year in 2000. As a White House Fellow, David later served as Associate Director of Domestic Policy in the Clinton and Bush Administrations and participated in the development of the No Child Left Behind Act. After leaving the White House, David joined the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, where he served as a policy advisor to the president of NBPTS and later as research director. Prior to coming to Wellesley, David was the Executive Director of Educator Quality for the Austin Independent School District. David earned a Bachelors Degree in History from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Boston University, and Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in educational leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
